Rubén Pellejero began to develop his artistic career as an illustrator in the 70s , but did not make his debut as a comic book artist until 1981 , the year in which he published his series Historias de una Barcelona in Cimoc magazine . Shortly after, he began a fertile collaboration with the Argentine screenwriter, Jorge Zentner , the fruit of which would be the comic strips Las memorias de Monsieur Griffaton ( Cimoc , 1982 ), Histories in FM ( Cimoc , 1983 ) and, more importantly, the creation for the Cairo magazine of the character Dieter Lumpen( 1985 ). Protagonist of eight short stories and three long stories, which would later be edited into albums by Norma Editorial .
In 1988 and 1989 , together with Zentner , he did some work for the French market , such as the cartoon La grande invention du professeur Calan , about the French Revolution .
One of his best works with Zentner was the 1994 album El silencio de Malka , which won several awards, including the award for the best foreign album published in France from the Angoulême Comic Festival . In the second half of the 90s , he made new and successful collaborations with Jorge Zentner.
In recent years, Pellejero has worked directly for the French market, together with the screenwriter Denis Lapière , publishing two albums with great success, both critically and publicly: Un poco de humo azul ( 2000 ) and El vals del gulag ( 2004 ). Which were later published in Spain.
